Hello Everyone! Welcome again to another interesting blog of mine. This time today will be a little different and first time experience ever! I visited Ayumi at Southwoods Mall, it is a Japanese based salon wherein they specialize Eyelash Extensions and Nail Arts including also Advanced Nail Extension.
I wanna share them to you guys because i really really loved this salon! It is very luxurious especially the relaxing interiors they have. I already been here thrice and i can't wait for my next visit. I'm planning to have a nail art from them, a Sunflower themed nail art for summer 💛 I haven't tried getting nail art from them but i guaranteed that this salon is one of the best.
Anyway, let's quit to the chittychats and let me introduce to you my first ever experience nail extensions at ayumi. Yep! It's my first time having my nails extended. I'm already tired running back to nail salons seeing my nails broke and chipped. This is the first time i didn't see my polish chipped.
The manicurists in there are very meticulous and neat when it comes to the customer's nail problems they're very kind and suggestive on whats the best service to have although it's also part of their marketing strategy but they're not the other salons that keep insisting a said service, they will respect your decision whatever service you want to have.
With this review i am gonna include also the PRONS & CONS of having Nail Extensions just because i also experienced how hard it could and how complicated it was.
Unfortunately i failed to film the whole procedure, I ended up capturing each procedure instead. This is already my 5th Visit and i am very sure that this salon will be my Regular Nail Salon To-Go To from now on. I just really love how neat they work on my nails.

THE PROCEDURE:
The Specialist/Manicurist put a builder gel first on my nails. Though, she did trim my nails a little, cleanse it to remove excess oils and buff my nails before applying the builder gel. The Nail Extension she suggested to me is Gel Extensions. It is said to be more long-lasting than the famous Acrylic Extension. It is also more natural and doesn't have the strong fumes you get from Acrylics when applied.
Next, she then put a foldable paper or a sculpting guide and measured on how long i want my nails. I prefer squared nails. Also, if you want to try a different kind of nail shape they can do it for you also. They have this Catalogue of different fab. nail shapes.
If you're wondering why my pinky finger has the only sculpting guide, it's because this is already my 2nd Refill/Repair from them.
This is my nails looks like after removing the polish. My Gel Extensions on my pinky finger are already removed that's why i had to refill it. Full Set Gel Extensions costs ₱1600.00 while their Full Set Tip Gel Extensions cost ₱1400.00 There's no difference at all, might want to have the Full Set instead. However, if you had already done your nail extensions outside or in the other salons and want it removed they will charge you ₱350.00 while free of charge if the Nail Extensions Service is from them.
This is the part where she already applied the Gelish PolyGel, It is the Product brand they use for Gel Extensions. The scent of the gel is very mild, It has more pleasant fragrance more like cotton candy or bubblegum! It is said it has no active ingredients unlike Acrylic Nails which is more safer which also make it easy to shape.
The cure time of PolyGel is 2 minutes in a UV Lamp while 30 Seconds on a LED Lamp but in Ayumi they use UV Lamp instead of LED for fast drying and save time. PolyGel nails do not experience heat spikes during curing and no tacky layer after curing.
It can be applied as an overlay over natural nails, a tip overlay, or sculpted over a form. It's up to you which one you prefer.
Moving on to the next step, to shape my nails pefectly ate Grasya file my nails using the E-file or let we say Driller. It's very uncomfortable at first, especially the sound it makes on to my nails and noted that this is my first time having nail extensions.
The driller is used for making the extensions more natural and flat so it can blend in on to your original nails.
After the E-File she then used the hand file to even out the Gel extension perfectly. I instructed Ate Grasya to reduce the length of my nails since my Natural nails already grew an inch already. In the span of 2 and a half month having PolyGel Nail Extensions i can say that it is more flexible and hard and very lighter than Acrylic.
You Know what's the best part of this Salon? They have tons of Nail Polish to choose from! It's very dreamy! 😍 They almost have all the Shades of your Favorite Polish and Glitter Polish for you're Nail Accents 💖 That's why i already quit going to the other Nail Salon i often go. Ayumi won my heart 😍💓 Given that it's very convenient place for me.
Anyway, back to our discussion, the photos below are all of the colors i tried. If you're wondering if they have a matte top coat, they do though the downside of it, from my experience matte top coat usually takes more than a minute to dry.
You may not notice that i used 3 different colors on the first and second photo but i did.
The color of the polish may be slightly different due to the filter and lightning but i can say this polish is more a bit of Pink with fuchsia accent.
I also encourage my mom to try nail extensions since she always get her nail chipped, cracked and broken like mine and guess what? She loved it! Actually, I was also surprised that she agreed to have it done because my mom is a work-a-holic person, you know? Household chores. This is her first time too like mine and we both loved it.
It sucks that my nail accent is not noticeable in this photo but wait it is color glittery silver with rainbow sparkles. 💖 I also forgot to tell you that my polish from them usually lasts more than 2 weeks no chipped and cracks although there are few minor dents but still looks good. Still surprised how the hell they make the polish last that long.
Look at that, i didn't know my mother has a sense of color. Look how stunning her polish was! I'm so shookt. I envy her nails at that moment. 💖
I also availed their Pedicure with Footspa Service for only ₱550.00. I say it's pretty affordable since i enjoyed their service especially the foot massage. I really felt relaxed at that moment.
I also tried their Pedicure with Foot spa and i loved it! It's very relaxing especially the way she massage my feet! I love hard massages since i walk a lot as in a LOT. They have 3 kinds of Foot Spa the Green Tea, Deep Sea Mud and Lavender but i prefer the Lavender. It's not only aromatic but also very refreshing.

Yesterday, i availed another Pedicure and Foot spa service and availed a paraffin wax with my boyfriend for only ₱600.00 I found this very affordable than the salons which i used to go to before, since it comes with pedicure and foot spa altogether. 💖
This is the newly furnished feet of mine. ✨ Simple Polish is my mood for today.
Anyway, this ends my amusement about Gel Nail Extensions. Let's start on the PROS & CONS having it.
PROS
- 100% LIGHTWEIGHT than acrylics ⎻ to my experience i find it very lightweight. It's like i really do have long nails. Covered by polish it really looks natural nails.
- Smells Very Pleasant! ⎻ Since it doesn't need monomer, it really is safe. It kinda reminds me of bubblegum!
- Flexible/Durable ⎻ It's not only natural looking but also very Durable and Flexible Indeed! I am very boisterous person *honestly* Since i always play with my Young Brother, Niece and Nephew even with my pets and my nails almost get chipped broken and cracked all the time and even with just simple tasks like opening something Long Nails are a No-No. I know a lot of female out there would relate to such dilemma's but hey thanks to PolyGel Nail Extensions!
- No Heat Spikes! ⎻ As long as it applied it correctly there will be no problem with that. Better observe your nail technician!
- Endless Fab. Nails! ⎻ Since it is very durable you can play with different colors of polish all you want and you can just try different Nail Arts and Nail Structures all you want who doesn't want that? Artistic in your own way? Why Not!
- Easy to File ⎻ It is still nail extensions, but the good thing is the dust falls downward which you shouldn't worry very much and it's very easy to file and even them out.
- You can't guarantee pink and white designs are cured right the way through especially if you are using non clear forms to sculpt.
- It can heat spike if applied incorrectly *watch out*
- Tough for Nail Bitters
- It feels sore when stricken unto something really hard.
OVERALL
I love the experience of having nail extensions than getting my natural nails manicured by a not so good nail technician and applied by gel polish and after a week it gets chipped or broken. A Nightmare dilemma for me unlike nail extensions you can have it trimmed or not. Refill again if one nail gets broken. Since i love discovering stuffs and beauty i'll never get tired having this fake nails which is i know very very safe. Honestly it's already been 2 months having these fabulous nails and i am really shookt how durable they really are.
So anyway if you're hesitant to try it and making twice decisions quit it now already! To see is to believe! I can say that i am so satisfied with Ayumi's Services and would love to try more of their services in the near future.
